This is definitely something I’d like to try out https://www.ebay.com/itm/336122632627

This is the same ebay seller that sold the dodgy 15w NRG fm transmitter kit to radio brian that had tons of problems from his post on necks.

I can't see this am transmitter being upto much if he was selling other kits that didn't work, i'm sure brian said the ebay ads disapeared after he contacted them.

He's still selling them  :-\

I guess it’s best to give anything this  seller has up for sale a good swerve.

Hi Stretchyman. Yes I've seen your gear

I am a bit curious how this performs, its claiming 100% mod and the frequency response I doubt is that high. I've copied the specs from his listing below:

Specifications

Medium Wave + Top Band 160M
Frequency Range (Broadcast): 530 to 1800 KHz
Frequency Range (Top Band 160m): 1800 KHz to 2MHz
Frequency Range (programmable): in 10 KHz steps (US Mode), and in 9 KHz steps (EU Mode)
Frequency Selection: 8 way DIP switch
Frequency Stability 30ppm
Fundamental Crystal Frequency:
10.240 MHz (US Mode) for 10 KHz channels
9.216 MHz  (EU mode) for 9 KHz channels
Modulation Type: Amplitude Modulation (AM)
Maximum Modulation Level: 100%
Power RF Output: 50W
Audio Response: 10 Hz to 10 / 25 KHz
Audio Input Sensitivity: (min) 100 mv RMS for 100% modulation

No mention of the input voltage, and the power output is certainly going to be the PEP and not RMS. Also why no modulation screen shot or trapezoid which is super easy to show.

The kit must detail about the LPF construction for your choice of operating frequency, also is the first 2 caps and toroidal are part of a Class E network?? It's all a bit vague.

If they sold it for the asling price, that's ridiculous.  £35 would be about right for £15 worth of parts and ½-hour build time.
