Hiya....good to see you here one and all. No dis to RNs, but we know not its fate.

We just need to start building some links and content so casual people start dropping by and signing up.

Even a few duplicates would be good to get the ball rolling. I am not connected with this site in any way just
would like to see a good thing kept going, like most of us I suspect.

We are speaking PLL here not VCO. The veronica is PLL but I thought Albert mentioned there were not a patch on the original NRG's.
If you account availability and price, features the PCS have the most going for them.

The only thing is the microcomponents mean you cannot service much. Although for the pices they charge I still consider them good value.
As long as you are not an idiot and run a low SWR and keep them nice and cool with a fan probably the best option. Not to mention decent power and stereo.

Of course there are more -DIY pirate- boards like the ones you have to populate yourself zozo, pira and a few others but some may see that as
a bit more hassle overall and then you are at 1W. It depends on what you want to do. if you like making them, I mean you won't learn much from populating a pcb
without the inclination to understand what the component are actually doing I guess.

I was susprised PCS were not spoken about more on the old forum given the ease of availability.

Hiya good to see you I vaguely remember your station if it is the same one I am thinking of (SE UK?) And quite a long time ago since being on FM, maybe 10 years ? I may have that totally wrong though.

The sole pirate I can pick up here, I won't mention frequency, I am going to be very cautious about that as I swear when any attention is given Ofcom and come and make a collection.
They dropped about 20db to almost impossible to hear, so weak I literally thought they had been raided. Back up to 20dB on the Tecsun PL-310 again.

Nice to have them back as a pirate radio dinner making listen. Hopefully they will be about over Chrissy.

It is a curious channel indeed. Maybe they send them to him and pay him some money and he send them back. Like a Radio TX influencer ?

I do not need much in the way of radio kit myself as I don't really TX. Mainly listening here.

But they seem to have amazing PLL's with optional extras. The PLL boards are good value and stable/quality. The only thing is the extras are a bit pricey, especially audio connectors which should be peanuts really... but if you can solder a few wires for audio inputs and what not the quality seems very good. not very serviceable being tiny tiny components but good quality it seems...

At least you know you won't be sprogging all over the band and raided in a day or 2 like the Chinese stuff.

Lots of options there, budget through to some deluxe PLL's.

I believe you’re right. Also has a YouTube channel if I remember correctly.

The VU DJ mixer meter avatar rings a bell.
