International Pirate Radio / Radio Dinosaur, R.A.M and Underground (SW)
« Last post by Schmellenschmellen on December 02, 2025, 03:26:54 pm »
I just wanted to put a post up fro posterity. I wonder if this guy is still doing radio ? Have not heard any of his radio offerings for a long while.
Would like to hear his very distinctive voice on air again. Dinosaur was AM, R.A.M was Fm and Underground was SW.

Sorry I dupe posted this on the wrong topic anyway here goes again...anything to get people over... we need a critical mass. i

Whatever happens, even if it comes back and can go again.

Many factors might involve bothering to sign up. The chance of it coming back online would be significant, maybe some just think it might come back. It may do
but it can drop off again any time.

I can remember the following names, sorry if you are here already. I know some are  ;) RadioNorthEast, Shuffy, DaveParsons, Duncanorak, Sprog (or sproggy) TheListener maybe?, MPX, the guy down on the south coast with the beam on the hill, I cannot recall the name. Might be good to post a few names you can recall so they might have impetus to sign up quicker

I have bookmarked this place now so I see it and log on more. Everyone has to do their bit I think, whatever you can do, do it. It might all help.

We need some pirate chat around the Xmas time, Frosty dipoles and all that  ;D

There are a small few still on but pirate radio in ireland is in it's death throws unfortunately. All the stations that are on or are possibly still on are listed in the band scan thread, first post.

Theres a few.
Radio North - 846KHz If I remember correctly comreg has visited them multiple times and are fine with them due to them being on MW and their programming being mainly religious and country music
Radio Star Country - 981KHz

There was also an Energy AM around 1300-1400KHz that broadcasted periodically from around Wicklow I think. The frequency changed once or twice and there was a Facebook page for them aswell.

Aswell as the rest listed on the bandscan.

Hi here,

Am a new user.

The disadvantage of a double-side printed circuit under the tracks is that you more insertion losses and what is forget here, is that the total capacity also increases.
Of course you should not mount this PCB flat on the metal but a little bit above it.

I have the best experience with "floating" filters with the coils is separate (with shielding).
If you don't do that, the harmonics will (happily) blow over.

Without special (high price) measuring equipment (Vector Network Analyzer) you actually have no idea what you are doing.

Marcel

YES sure. that is reason why orginal not heave coper under coil soldering points!  nanoVNA doig this job very vell
