Ive been working on an smd version of the zozo board/smiley nrg/ H board. whoever invented it first
But iv hit a bump in the road. Ive used all 0603 caps and resistors, everything else is regular through hole parts. On the rf strip they do get abit warm to hot and the board only does about 100mw out. im baffled as to why, iv checked the pcb over and over and found nothing wrong. Ive swapped out loads of parts and found nothing. The last thing i can think of is the 0603 parts are just not providing the power the rf stages need to drive the final. But it was my understanding that they would just burn up if too much current was drawn.
im also controlling the saa1057 with an Arduino. Is the original pic16f84 doing more than just controlling the saa1057 ? Does it have a muted stage that opens up when locked ?
